The Cowbell Build Thread

Maybe the belt just took away from him being the toughest guy in town?

You could be right. I guess we can ask Jared Keeso if we ever have the chance. I wonder if he has ever talked about in a podcast or interview somewhere. My understanding of the Letterkenny writing is that it is a semi anecdotal/largely satirical riff on Keeso's experiences travelling and playing hockey in rural Canada. Although that might have been the web series that the show is based on - I can't quite recall. A lot of fun regardless.

I think I was asked recently if I had a Spear and Zulu side by side and I din't think I did. Well I do now, this shows the differences in both blade and sheath.

Spear has the tip in the centerline of the blade while the Zulu is a bit lower, another thing to note is the Spear has slightly more belly than the Zulu. If you find yourself "drilling" then a Spear makes that easy. You know like when you want to mark a spot in wood and you gently twist a spot, or chamfer something, not a great use for a knife but we're all guilty of it. If you like a wharncliffe but miss having a little belly for slicing then the Zulu is spot on.

I have an idea, rather than increase the whole overall size of the knife with larger blade and handle, it would be better to just keep the same blade size and just lengthen the handle more.

:oops:Blasphemy! I'm kidding, I think the Cowbell for it's purpose has a good blade length/handle proportion. A longer handle could help with extra large hands though.

For a blade in the 4+" range, more purchase would be necessary for sure.

Not too much longer in the handle, maybe half an inch. To get a good four finger grip. If you had to increase the blade, just go to 3.5 with a four finger grip.
