Love that plain handles with a nice damascus blade! You will love it...congrats

I just purchased this off the Forum. I bought it because I wanted an Insingo but more importantly I wanted one with February 22nd as the birthday. My mom's birthday is February 22nd and she has dementia. There are days she struggles to remember exactly who I am, and carrying this will keep her in my thoughts, even after she's gone. Now I just need to find a large Insingo, preferably with Micarta, with a birthday of October 23rd as that is my dad's birthday. I already have a large 21 with their anniversary date.

Thank you! When I opened the thread and read the birthdate I couldn't get to the bottom of the listing fast enough to see if she was still available. I've been looking for this one for a while and I suspect that she'll kick several knives out of my rotation.

Because I am a simple man....Just a simple plain Jane Lg Seb 21 user missing the Idaho stamp....

Ok peeps! I have a question that has been bugging me about CRKs. I know somebody is going to school me. Why is it that some of the Damascus blades are almost black while others are definitely grayish silver? And all of them are the stainless Damascus.

I did notice when the two bark arrived they were darker then my ivory and the rain drop was more defined. The blade had a thin coating on it to make it shine a bit more is my guess. Wiped it off but still had a shine. I would love to see an old pattern raindrop...they are real clean. I think Santana just recently got a rain drop mnandi? That pattern is amazing!

As far as I know based on the very few Damascus blades that I currently have, The really dark / black ones are either the "High Carbon" (Coated and some un-coated) and the Stainless "High Contrast" (Coated).

All the recent offerings appear dark gray (un-coated). I believe if these blades were to be coated, they will appear darker. But that is purely conjecture.

Below you can find different kind of Damascus and spanning over 16 years.

Left to Right:

1999 High Carbon Blued Raindrop Damascus
2006 Stainless Raindrop Damascus (High Contrast - Black / Coated)
2015 Stainless Raindrop Damascus (Dark Gray)
2015 Stainless Spirograph Damascus (Dark Gray)
1999 High Carbon Ladder Damascus (Black / un-coated)
