The CRK Anticipation Thread - Show Your 'Inbound's!

I suppose it is only appropriate that my first post in this forum is that I have my first ever CRK incoming, a PJ Small Sebenza 31. It has actually already arrived but is under the tree for Christmas.

While I have carried a pocket knife off and on since I was a kid (I'm 47), my first real introduction to the knife world was at Blade Show 2021. I live in Atlanta and had decided I wanted a mid-sized EDC that could be operated one-handed as I had always only had traditional back locks. I started checking out local shops but a buddy suggested checking to see if there were any knife shows around. I quickly discovered not only was the world's biggest knife show in my backyard, but it was also in a couple of weeks.

I got tickets for me and my son and we covered the show floor from one side to the other, trying everything, including the Small Sebenza 31. I was incredibly impressed and could quickly see why the brand had such a great reputation and following but didn't want to spend that much as my self-imposed budget was $250. I moved on to the logical players in that price point, mostly Spyderco and Benchmade but we really did try everything. I'm still kicking myself I didn't buy a Demko 20.5, what a fun knife but was a little too big for what I wanted. In the end, I ended up with a Spyderco Para 3 in Maxamet, primarily because it was (and still is) so fun to play around with.

Then I discovered all the modding people do so next thing you know I'm getting into different scales and spending too much money on a different pocket clip. But the problem was, the Para 3 is just too big to be comfortable reaching past when using the pocket clip, and it's too bulky to keep down in the pocket. It's fine for throwing in my backpack but I wanted a knife that I would have on hand every day. I also began to realize I wanted my knife to be of heirloom quality to one day pass down to my son. And so that modded Para 3 (that I ended up with about $350 in) will soon be for sale to help pay for the knife I should have bought from the beginning, a Small Sebenza 31.

Christmas can't get here soon enough!

My anticipation has nothing to do with incoming, YET!

This is a shameless plug and unapologetic begging for you all to click the link in my signature line!

I finally did it. After wanting a Sebenza since 1998, I just bought a used small 21 off the exchange. Nothing fancy compared to the artwork shown here, but I hope to love it and use it daily. (Sellers pic, will ship tomorrow)

And so a lifetime relationship begins…. (and yes, I forgot to wipe the blade clean before taking the pic, have been taking advantage of any excuse to use it!)

That's quite the wait.
I honestly thought my order was forgotten, thought about calling to check the status since the Damascus orders run about a year and a half. I’m just glad my order wasn’t forgotten about. They did give me the option to cancel in the email, but it’s the one I really wanted.
