The CRK Boxes Saga - Latest Chapter

OK, so here is the new knife that came in the new box that Anne built. A basic large 21 with dual blue lugs. I just like the way dual lugs look for a change ever so often. I have tried to open it up using the lock-bar side lug and my left hand but it was a very awkward, uncoordinated, sad attempt. The clip must have fallen off but fortunately I had one of those little insert thingamagizmos. The last picture show both thumb lugs in case you though I may have been moving a single one from side to side for each picture.

I think the new box looks great along with the folio and is befitting of the brand mystique around CRK's, but it definitely isn't in line with Chris' original philosophy of putting more money into the knife as opposed to the packaging although I guess specially cut cardboard is cheaper than styrofoam? Personally, I think the reissue boxes would be ideal if they were a little wider to fit the bday cards. Speaking of bday cards, I'm not a huge fan of the new ones. I also think they would've been better off printing the blade shape as opposed to having a check box. It really seems like they put more effort into designing the actual box and folio as opposed to the card.

Size comparisons of the 4 boxes they've used during regular production...

Birthdate on this one is July of 2016 and is in the older style box.

Thanks for the pic's, they look great.
Haven't held a Large since they made the Large Regular, I should get one.

I like the design of the new box much better than the most recent one, but still like the smallest of the old style boxes better. Not sure about the new birthday card, I guess I will have to buy a carbon fiber Mnandi to see it in person:)

I like the simplicity of the old boxes, plus they are smaller and take less space to store.

I definitely think the boxes are bigger than they need to be, although I like the way they're designed. Hopefully CRK will consider shrinking them down to closer to the size of the flimsy ones.

I like the box but as a dealer it is frustrating because it no longer fits in a USPS small flat rate priority box. Now when we ship West of the Mississippi it cost us a little more. It is a very small complaint and honestly the only one I have against the new box!

The other complaint I have is the amount of space they'll take up being stored. I liked the thin ones from 2 boxes back best for that reason, in spite of them bending the birth cards.

It would be probably more economic to use the smaller of boxes and trim down the b-day cards.
I understand that a bog box is also a selling tool.
Well it's a live company, so we'll see how it develops.
