The CSC Boy's Knife Thread

mugwump867,
I am glad you posted your knife. You might have the privilege of being the first person to own a knife from the "new" Canal Street Cutlery. That is definitely how I would describe it.:)

Is this your first CSC knife? I have one on order and look forward to getting it. I know they aren't producing them quickly, but that is fine with me. Since they are just starting back up, quality is much more important than speed. Do you plan to get another?

Yes it's my first CSC knife. For the cost, construction, and quality of steel used I would definitely get another one down the road. Of the initial, relaunch batch this was the one that appealed to me the most since I was already the midst of the GEC #15 frenzy and wanted to see how they compared.

My, that's pretty.

Okay, now that I've seen your pics, I'm officially antsy to get mine in hand.

Only CSC knife I own is the Eric's Jack, which appears to be the same as the Boy's Knife in stag:

Really well made knife, nicely matched stag, handles thick enough but not too thick.

I missed the reserve. These boys knives are wonderful. I have 3 CSC barlows which seem to be on the same frame but i do prefer the single blades.

scored this one from @ea42 during the rendezvous. Mentioned Ive always wanted one and missed my shot when CSC announced the close and the boys knife sold out right away. this is a different no shield version of the golden g-10. cant wait to see my new ones drop in soon.

i've got a no shield one too! Eric mentioned they might from a factory overrun that they typically did like 10 of.

My scarlet's just in too, posted on the CSC Phoenix born thread. I like it, tho it's got a few issues (upper tang rub, making opening not so sweet, & not as sharp as i thought it would be). Always liked the proportion. I have a gold one too.

I'm glad the color is a little darker than the pic on the dealers site. Looks like a deep and perfect red in your shots.

It is a hard knife to photograph well. When the light hits it just right it can come across as magenta when in reality it's a deep cranberry color. And it's so shiny that my phone camera has a hard time focusing on the knife itself.

My gold G-10 one was kind of like that. Really sticky in the pivot. But after a couple of thorough flushings, the action became nice and snappy.
