The Dangers Of This Forum

The Sebbies seem to age really well, unless you stick them in your pocket with a bunch of old bolts the marks ( "snail trails") just seem to add more and more to the character. The biggest issue in sending one back is if it will psychologically limit you from carrying it and enjoying it. I bought all three of my CRK folders used and like them just the way they are.

Not so much that as the character builds with some use (in all honesty I have many knives I don't use, just because i have too many) and with that you are not concerned about the next small scar that it incurs in life. If you get it back looking like new again you may struggle to put it back in your pocket and get the use out of it.

Buy a plain first, my 2 cents.
I've had maybe 30 CRK's in small and large Sebbies...favorites were Classic models, but 21's are just fine. I have had LOTS of fancy grips, but always preferred to carry a plain Ti-slabbed large Sebbie.
MAKE SURE that you get the right size...small vs large. I never could hang onto the small. When you slide the knife forward in your palm to depress the lock-bar to close the blade, the small model would tend to slide forward out of my hand. I was forced to always carry a large, and of course, I also have had two CRK Umnumzaan models which are "large." Great model also...gives a sort of tactical appearance...super tough knife.
Good luck. Would reco to buy one off of the Exchange here...a good used 21 should be 325 or so, and a used one is just as good as any new one...just a lot cheaper. And if you don't like it...sell it again for what you paid for it.
Welcome to the CRK frenzy...
Oh yeah...forgot to mention this...the only time I ever sent one to the spa was to clean it up as new before reselling. For personal use, snail-trails are just fine.

Sorry , didn't realize I was in the CRK forum, thought it was general discussion, also thought you were still in the considering stage but looks like you bought a nice knife and don't need any more input.
They are artful and well made.

Is the knife exchange "policed" by the community for fakes? I have a pretty good handle on what to look for, but I wouldn't want to fall for a really good fake.

Absolutely,
a person can get banned for selling fakes and it's against the rules. Most folks will ask for opinions if they have any doubt.
For the most part, this is the safest place to buy from besides a dealer.

I regret nothing!

Congrats! It’s an awesome knife indeed, yet so simple. I’ve been carrying my Large 21 all week.
