I decided to do some number crunching at work today on the age thread.
Note that this was by hand, not with some pansy Stats package
178 Respondents (cutting out double posts, etc.)
Collective Age: 6,102
Average Age (number of respondents divided by collective age): 34.28
Median Age (a value in an ordered set of values below and above which there is an equal number of values, or in this case the arithmetic mean of the two middle values ): 33
Age Distribution (sorry, no graphical curve)
19 and under: 17
20-29: 55
30-39: 46
40-49: 37
50-59: 20
60+: 3
Extremes
Youngest: 13 (Solomon)
Oldest: 66 (Bob Rosenfeld)
All and all, a fairly decent age distribution. A lot of folks my age, and a lot of respectable old farts
Someone else can do this next time
