Ok, I don't want any spoilers, but is Dr. Satan in this movie? My wife won't go see it with me, so I guess I'll wait till it comes out on DVD.

Rattler--he's not in it. This is a prequel of sorts, set in the early 70's I believe, though in my mind, there wasn't a huge connection between the two films. You could easily watch The Devil's Rejects without having seen House of 1k Corpses.

It's not a prequel. Devil's Rejects happens just after House of 1000 Corpses. The police raid the house because the Sheriff played by William Forsythe is avenging his brother's death in the first movie. You don't really need to see 1000 Corpses but it does make the story easier to understand since you've already been introduced to all the characters.
