This past Saturday, I called in an order to Paul Atkins at The Distinctive Edge ( http://www.the-distinctive-edge.com/ ) for a pair of folders, a sought-after Extrema Ratio MPC and an Al Mar SERE 2000 in matte black chrome.
We had a nice little knife-chat, and he gave me a wonderful price on the Al Mar as well.
I decided on two-day UPS Blue-Label shipping due to the pending Thanksgiving holidays, and was promised that the knives would go out on Monday. Unfortunately, a shipping miscommunication caused a delay....
Through it all, Paul maintained constant e-mail contact with me in trying to resolve the situation. Stretching into about 11 PM last night, he still kept in-touch despite the late hour, and managed to work out Next-Day Red-Label shipping to guaranty that the knife would get to me before the holidays, and footed the bill himself.
This kind of dedication to customer service is a rarity in the retail sector today. I can literally count this type of follow-up just with my fingers.
Needless to say, I'm bowled-over by Paul's wonderful care, and I can say with 100% certainty that I will be re-visiting The Distinctive Edge for my future purchases, and also will be referring friends and fellow knife nuts to his care.
