The "Double Bump", and other interesting Shields!!

Don't forget the diamond

Very nice, the only diamond shield I have is on a CASE.

The bone on that thing isn't so bad either:D:thumbup::thumbup:

As the topic of "shields" seems to be of new interest (and I myself have never seen and enjoyed some of these threads), I thought I'd bump this one as well because of some of the unique images contained herein.

Feast your eyes.

Great old thread Charlie! Thanks for bumping it up P. I am at a disadvantage right now but I will drag out a few of my odd balls later. Probably need to put my money where my mouth has been lately;)

Here's an engraved "shield". A pretty little pen IMO.

Best regards

Thanks my friend, It's my favourite of my small pearl collection, stopped collecting them after a fatal drop of a perfect old Morley whittler:o. I have had it for a few years and just noticed from the picture that the engraved line goes right through the spring pin.
I love the long nicks coming through the swedges.
Best regards

Robin

I like the corset shield on some patterns:

Guess this oughta go in as well, even though it's not a production item. John Lloyd's perch:

Holy cr@p! You're kidding, right?

This shield is similar to the one on the far left of your lineup. Would you call this a propeller, a bowtie, or both?

Rick my friend, that knife is just something else-I just finished my breakfast while going through this fantastic thread!
Again I have to say it-what a beautiful knife!
Great thread Charlie, and thank you to everyone contributing.

Here's a bump for a new knife maker and interesting emblem as it's asymmetrical. It may drive some folks nuts as it looks unbalanced, it's supposedly a wing? (Great looking knife)

Bump. Got linked here looking for the "bollocks" emblem, info answered on first page. Interesting info. Surprised that emblems used on such high end knives, makes me chuckle

One of the best necro bumps, ever. Well played w/ a great knife. Cool thread.

New maker? Looks pretty polished for a new "kid". What a beautiful pattern..looks like a modified gunstock. And I live the shieldx I thought sail before I read the post.

Pretty fitting w/ the #44's being released.

Would love to hear more about this maker..Congrats on a beautiful piece.

Oops. Pic for reference, not mine. And I'm pretty sure that definitley is a gun stock. Bird is is a experienced customizer of scales and handle materials and I think he is just now making his own entire customs. Someone may have more info, I was just referencing the unique shield.

Got it.

See better pics now on desk top..looks like a 71 w/ custom scales..Pretty slick, they look really well done..cool sheild, for sure.
