The ear of the rat!

I guess I'm the odd man out. I mostly listen to indie (Sea Wolf, The Shins, The Decemberists, etc), jazz (Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane in particular), and classical (especially Mozart. I play the French horn and the man did a lot of great horn pieces). :p Also a big fan of Nine Inch Nails. Trent Reznor is a genius of epic proportions.

I hear the The Decemberists at least once a night, Canius-Lupus covers shank hill butchers on g-tar while singing seriously everynight.:D
how about The Great Lake Swimmers? Braid? Joan of Arch? Sun Ra Archestra?

More into old school Metal, Maiden,Sabbath,Motorhead,Viking,Deep Purple,etc.....
oh, and cheesy hair bands;-). alot to be said for old school punk too,Sex Pistols, Ramones,Agent Orange,

I'm more of an 80's metal fan too. In 2007 i saw the Heaven & Hell, The Police and Van Halen reunion concerts.

I loved that music. Other faves include Queensryche, Dokken, Boston, Deep Purple, Def Leppard (up to Hysteria, Pyromania was da bomb), Dio, Foreigner, Great White, GTR, Harem Scarem, Judas Priest, Kingdom Come, KISS (seeing them July 20th at Casino Rama - In-laws got me tickets!), Led Zeppelin, Loudness, Ministry/Revolting Cocks, Motley Crue, McAuley Schenker Group (1st 2 albums are 2 of my alltime faves), Ozzy, Quiet Riot, Rage Against The Machine (another fave), Rammstein (Du Hast rocks!), Scorpions, Tesla, TNT, Toto, Twisted Sister, WASP, Whitesnake, White Lion, Winger, and many more!

you got it man too many to name .just remembered Steel Heart,Rhino Bucket,Bullet Boys, Pantera,Metal Church,...... and who can forget......SPINAL TAP!!!!!!!

Rat Pack #102

I like alot of the 80's bands as well Megadeth,Metallica,Metal Church, Motley Crue,Pantera, Wasp,Death Angel, so many to name if it was metal I prolly had it at one time....
LOL,now Posion/skid row/bon jovi /cinderella/ music like this is not metal and I never had there cd's or this type of pop rock, to me IMO was teen pop rock that slowly introduction young boys & girls to metal .
Not me knee deep in Sabbath and heavier....sorry if I offended anybody not my intent. ;)

Watch all the way through and tell me at 4:21 is that the embodiment of all that is ripe and broading in our world?

No offense taken TTD. Everyone has their own tastes. Variety is after all, the spice of life! I didn't mind the softer "Hair metal" bands personally. Bon Jovi was good on their first couple albums but I personally find they got too Bruce Springsteenish in style on their later albums. Nothing wrong with The Boss, I just find they got limp for lack of a better term.
I also like some of the stuff from Skid Row and Cinderella too. Skid Row's Wasted Time is a great track IMO. I love towards the end when Sebastian Bach hits some of those high notes in the line he repeats several times "I never thought you'd let it get this far".
