The easiest way NOT to get a free ESEE Knife

is to email us asking for a free ESEE knife. We get many requests each week from individuals with some long tale about how we should send them a free knife to test or review for us. We have always been very generous in donating to charitable causes and events, and will continue to do so. We even send free knives out sometimes to individuals because we want to or were impressed by something they did. What we DON'T do is send out free "test" knives simply because someone emails us saying we should, or because someone has a video camera and wants to make a YouTube video.

You tightwad. :p

Seriously I don't get where people get this whole entitlement thing from. It's not like you don't give people ample opportunity to get free stuff. If they want one so badly they should enter one of the bajillion contests you guys put on.

Mike and I are simply amazed at the requests we get from people thinking we should simply give them a knife.

I would really like a free RC3 and I can arrange a review in a well known mens publication.

I would like you to deliver mine in person...........I live in a big mansion in LA, my name is Hugh but most people call me Hef................You are welcome to stay a few days in our guesthouse but you will have to share it with some of our "employees":D

Hell I'll give you one of each of the ESEE line for free if you extend me that offer! :p

Did you send them a link to some of the skills contests and tell them if they want one to get off their ass? :D

You guys give away more knives than any company I’ve ever encountered. It’s not like we’re talking $12 Moras here either. I don’t think I can say “thank you” enough to show how much I appreciate all the chances we have to win knives around here. So, I try to use the knives as much as possible, build as many skills as possible, and pass the info on to as many people as possible.

That's funny, I always get a kick out of people asking for something extra in trades, I can only imagine what it would be like for a knife company.

You guys do a great job, keep up the great designs!

I get alot of request too Jeff/Mike as well , I just laugh & tell 'em to enter the Contest or search our online Dealer network for the best deal

Good to know...I often find myself looking for ways to reduce the number of free knives people are tossing at me;)

I operate a business...this time of year, a LOT of people assume that I need a big tax shelter for my profits (as if!) and the donation requests are rampant. I think public perception is that you (the business) somehow gets all your merchandise for free...so giving it away is no big deal.

I feel your pain, I can only imagine how many people must think they will be the next youtube sensation...and how nice of them to offer you a chance to get in early!

Darn! So much for that idea. :D

There should be a thread of ridiculous requests. Every week you post the funniest one you read and blank out the name. It may deter more people from sending emails if they know they will be publicly (but indirectly) made fun of.

We'd also get a good laugh out of it :D

I feel like we should be giving you guys some free knives for a change... ;)

I was one of those lucky and very greatful individuals that Jeff sent a knife to just because he liked something I did. I have also witnessed other lucky individuals recieve free knives and gear from ESEE for countless reasons.

There is NO other company that gives away goods like ESEE, so I hope which ever of you bone heads that like begging for a knife via email or forum posts doesn't screw it up for the rest of us..

Jeff and Mike, don't let a few idiotic emails ruin your idea of the rest of us knife buyers and users. There are far more of us than them, and we appreciate all you do for the knife community.

Don't get me wrong. These idiotic emails we get will never change the way we do business. I was simply venting about this today after Mike sent me yet another request this morning. Mike and I both simply laugh at these now.

Jeff and Mike,

Just email the lyrics of the RUSH song "Something For Nothing" to all the freeloaders........on second thought, they would probably then ask you to buy the album and mail it to them....:D

Now Jeff... You should send me 200 of the HEST Folders FREE because I want to "test" & see how they sell!:D
