• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

I have been whiling away the time spent on my butt at home recuperating taking some pics of a few knives. These are my old ones. From top to bottom, an old Vess two blade jack, next one of my favorite stockmans and old Boker, third a Primble scout knife, fourth a Remington two blade serpentine? jack and last but not least a Camillus scout knife.

The Vess, Boker and Camillus all have steel liners, the Primble and Remington have brass liners. I'm guessing that the Remington is not exactly pristine, but I still like it anyway. The Primble might not be as old as I think it is, but I love the jigged bone.

Sorry for the bad pics.

All but the Primble were found at junk shops and flea markets. The Primble was part of a trade with a buddy of mine at a gun show.

Nice collection of oldies but goodies. The Remington is a nice trim little cutter for edc.

Carl.

Great looking collection of the old beauties. Thank you for showing.

I hope, you´ll be fine soon...

Kind regards
Andi

Thanks guys, I think the Vess is the oldest, the Remington is suspect because of the liners. The Vess is from the mid 30's according to the Blade guide. The Boker stamping covers a wide date, and the Camillus is old. I had the Vess repinned, it was missing a pin. The others have been touched up on a sharpener. The Primble was sharpened by Scott Gossman. I've carried all of them at one time or another. These old timers are the biggest reason I like poking around the junk shops for knives. I've got a few recent model Schrades, some Case knives I've given away as gifts. These are the "cream of the crop" though. I just like seeing all of the character. Can't beat the pocket worn handles though. My crappy pic skills can't capture the scales on the stockman, it is a real eye catcher.

Here's two older barlows, top one is a Remington barlow, the pen blade having been heavily sharpened down. The bottom is a Camillus no 9 with a heavy patina.

I was trying to get in touch with the guy who repinned the Voos, about removing the pen blade on the Remington and removing the second spring, so I would have a single spring barlow to carry and use, but I haven't been able to get in touch with him. Going to send him an email about "tinkering" with it.
