The Elusive 119

Very interesting info on the 119. I bought mine at Camp Irwin, CA in 1977 during summer (spring) camp. According to the data provided on this site mine has both Group 2 and Group 3 features. The pommel has 1 aluminum and 2 micarta spacers (excluding the aluminum pommel end piece), the guard features 1 micarta and 2 aluminum spacers. I see no evidence of a second micarta spacer. Sheath is wrap around style with swivel belt loop. The box is gone but I remember it was the traditional light yellow two-piece. Overall, a very sturdy and practical knife.

Really, People need not worry about how many aluminum spacers are in their knife. People only need worry about the number of micarta spacers in their knife. The knife Sevensix is referring to was manufactured in 1981, therefor it can not be both 2 and 3...

I have good eye sight, so I can see (unlike some that frequent this site) that the knife Haebbie has is also a 1981, judging from the second picture and the two spacers in the pommel.

Thanks to all for your information. The "elusive" 119 remains, well, elusive. Appreciate your help.

it can not be both 2 and 3...

But doesn't that violate the Holiest of Buck Truths?

"With Buck......ALL THINGS are possible."

I learned this from the priests as as I was baptized as a babe in arms.......and this I will always believe.

There are exceptions to some rules but when its in black and white you cant have both, unless of course you have double vision, in which case you should stop looking at the computer so much and go see an Optometrist.
