The grip now is superb. It just feels like I can cut ANYTHING with that little bugger. I had the 11 wrapped, before I put the handle on, and it was sooo damn uncomfortable for long usage or just heavy push-cutting/ usage.
I thought the handle would feel too thick at first, but as I said- fit is amazing; it simply Completes my hand....

I think I'm going to be wanting something like that. Oh, my poor, suffering wallet. By the way ... you didn't happen to take pictures as you were making them, did you? You could do a nice little tutorial for the rest of us.

I did not make tutorials since I did not have my hands on a camera at the time. But it came out so nicely, that I am planning to make another one, in a different type of wood- this one I might try to do a tutorial on... we'll see.
It is very easy to make, though. You just have to have patience and a rotary tool. :D

by the way, the upcoming production handles look a little too short, I like to wrap my index around a thicker handle. That's why I had to cover the BKT marking and make a groove in the sheath...

See, those are the type of things people need a tutorial for: what kind of tools are used, procedures, etc.

I agree with you about the length of the handles. The production handles do look like they're too short.

Sweet I can't wait until these come out.I've been waiting sooo long for them, it's gonna give a new twist to an old knife.I might have to buy a few more BK 11's now just to put the handles on them.:):):thumbup:

I decided I shall make another handle, and document the progress of the-making. Though now I encountered a problem! I want to purchase the San-Mai version BK-11, but it's out of stock at warriorsandwornders.ca
I live in Toronto, Canada, and I do not know where to get the knife..

You might try Tomar's Ka-Bars ( http://www.tomarskabars.com/Becker_Knives.html ). I don't know about shipping to Canada, but it's worth checking into.

Very nice work, Razorsharp! Personally, I find the BK11 the most comfortable skeletonized handle knife I've ever used, but have always thought a grip option along these lines would be terrific. Like the way you relieved the sheath so as to extend the scales forward ... Ethan should pay you a royalty on the design. ;)

nice job on the handle looks great, cutting down the sheath 1+ on that too.
does the sheath still hold the knife securely?
i recently picked up a few neckers, plan on making some scales myself.
did you use any kind of filler in the gaps in the skeleton of the handle?

The knife is held in the sheath as before, VERY securely; especially since I just carry in my front right pocket.
This time I used some epoxy with metal dust to fill in the blanks in the handle. Also, it adds to the rigidity of the knife, IMPO.

I would love to know how you made the cutouts in the sheath look so tidy. Looks like it came from the factory that way.

It was VERY simple.
I just used the sanding bit on my rotary tool, and walla.
I then scraped away the "molten" excess with the knife.
