The Elusive Bushraptor -- Pics and Love

What?!!! Let's see some of that goodness! A stainless would be really nice for the kitchen.

In case it was not obvious, the Bushraptor is one of my favorite small Fiddlebacks. That may change as I really like the Bushboot and the Hiking Buddy, but it stands for now. Something about the Wharncliffe design that talks to me.

This will be my first wharncliffe knife. Something about it and the Woodchuck really spoke to me about versatility. They also remind me 'ish' of my santuko knife in the kitchen. I really despise the handle on my Santuko and the heat treat is awful. The edge chips with the lightest of kitchen duty, so I'm really looking forward to the Bushraptor. It's no where near the size of my Santuko, but it may end up getting more kitchen time because it's a quality blade.

Hey Strig, if you get a BR in Emerald Burlap, you won't even have to make a sheath for it. By the way, that sheath is looking pretty fine. Did you make it? I see influences of Tal and Rick in it.

Haha that's true, although I happen to have a large supply of leather and materials to make a much better sheath. That was the second I'd ever done. Works well, but I've got better techniques and tools for stamping. I enjoy making burlap micarta and made the burlap pins too.

Still, it ain't nothing like a Fiddleback. That will, sadly, never happen! ;)

Here is a pic of the Woodchuck, Bushraptor, EDC ll and the Hiking Buddy.
Sorry if the photo is of poor quality it's from my phone.

Thanks for the pic Crano and everyone else. Dcaggie, MvM and Mist have all added another to my must have list. But not for me. It would be for my sister who just graduated from cooking school and has always wanted such a blade. :D

Here is my raptor, my first Fiddleback. I love this thing, especially in the kitchen! A bit different than normal, it is hollow ground.

Thanks for that pic. That really helps. I knew the Woodchuck was larger by about 1 ¼", but this pic really puts it in perspective.

Keep the pics coming! Mine is here, but the girl is resting after traveling a day and a half to get here. My Bushraptor is stuck somewhere in her luggage!

Hey Mist, a while back I sharked a Bushraptor with 5/32" CPM 154. I have not put the calipers on it to see if it is indeed 5/32", or is wider like the 1/8" CPM 154 stock that Andy uses. But it surely is a stout little knife. I counted the other day, and I currently have 5 Bushraptors, from 3/32" 01 to 5/32" stainless. Hopefully I can get some pictures up soon.

Wow, I must have been gone. I've yet to even see a 5/32 one. In the stainless that may even be a little thicker. Cool snag!!

I'm glad made the suggestion to Andy :)

2014 0613 02 – Ironwood Bushraptor over black g10 with white pinstripes, SFT Tang, convex on 5/32” CPM 154 stainless steel, stout little knife - $335Sold

Hey mist, I picked it up on the 6-13 offering.

Edit: I actually have 2 others in 5/32" 01, one in 1/8" with a TT, and one (my first) in 3/32". The latter one is very slicy/dicey in the kitchen.

I finally got my hands on my Bushraptor! Again, just cell phone pics, but I wanted to get busy in the kitchen.

Not tapered like I was hoping, but it does feel nice in the hand.
