Hello dear brothers,
With God's good will i managed to finish this sharp jewel - it was a tough task as if anyone ever worked with mammoth molar would know it's extreme challenges

Sure thing that the end result is fabulous, the texture, translucence, deep colors and everything related to this material looks astonishing. Buffed to a high gloss, the fossil comes alive as you're thinking if it's place would have not been on a lady's pendant rather that on a knife's handle

Let's talk a little bit about material's technical's now - that would be an over 30 k years old piece of Siberian mammoth molar, a very sought after material that comes in restricted amounts and being something that is limited on what's available in the permafrost and no more of it after that in the last years it became more and more expensive and luxurious. This particular piece has nice forest colors and 'patches' of deep fiery contrasts and shines like a real emerald.
Subtle gold buffed pins are holding together the precious bolster without altering it's beauty while a thin deep blue liner strengthen's the whole setup and ads a touch of 'royalty' to it.
To match it's beauty and tones an A grade hornebeam was picked to accompany it; dyed in similar tones and buffed to a high gloss the marvelous wood became somehow translucent and deep.
The blade is made out of the best O1 high carbon tungsten vanadium tool steel variation available and wears a razor sharp scandi grind.
The knife comes as a perfectly functional cutter with a touch of exhibition piece added through the exclusive mammoth molar and the high touch of the hand le itself. Although everything was made for it to be a nice user i would kindly advice it's future owner to pay attention to dropping it on hard surfaces as the fossils, having a glass like texture and a non uniform composition tend to be shatter exposed

The overall length is app 7.9" with an app 3.5 blade.
The price for this blade would be 375 usd ; please add 35 usd for a nice vegetable tanned thick ox leather sheath made by my lovely wife - on request.
All the best dear brothers, God bless,
Bogdan
