Sorry for the crappy pics, but can't really go outside with these today... it's dark and wet and rainy.

The black G-10 is REALLY black... barely any white in it. I almost questioned if it was a paper micarta, but feels like G-10, and Boss and Ty (@RATequila) didn't mention any paper micarta in the handle options/possibilities (only canvas micarta and G-10), and this is definitely no black canvas micarta.

If you have no luck on a trade, I would definitly take the black g10 off your hands...

Not knowing handle color made me nervous about ordering one. Now that I see your pics I'm regretting it. Congrats man!

It handles and feels much lighter and more nimble than the length suggests. The handle feels right, if just a tad thin, but might feel better with gloves on :thumbsup:

While both of mine are beautiful, if someone wants to consider trading colors, let me know!! I was hoping for one micarta and one G-10, so I got those! I was really hoping for tan or green micarta (got tan!!) and a green/black or orange/black G-10. So if someone prefers black g-10 and got green or orange G10, let me know! We can make each other happy!:D:D:D

Are you sure yours is tan? It looks much too dark to be tan, maroon canvas would be my guess.

I'm sure it's tan. It's a medium brown with light tan fibers. I have a few tan micarta handles and a few maroon ones. Maroon has much more red in it and the fibers aren't nearly as apparent.

The pics are taken with sub-optimal lighting tho, so I can see how it can be confused with Maroon :p

Sweet blades for sure, you are correct on both counts... I see what you mean now. I'm hoping green canvas shows up... :cool:
 
Here are a couple of pics with my Tan vs Maroon:

From left to right: RMD Maroon, eRATicator tan, Waki tan. (unless I'm wrong on both, and they're a variant of the maroon :confused:)



But I am totally with you. It's hard to tell because the tan micarta changes SO much between batches.... the TGULB on the right is a Forest green with Tan Micarta for sure (that's how I ordered it), next to a BIG DC & Maroon in the middle:

Difference is MUCH more pronounced here; and the Tan micarta looks totally different from the two Tan micarta above! o_O
 
Type of machining to the scales make a big difference in colour and texture , these are old style black micarta .

Jerry did change the colours for scale material recently but I can not help out with links.

Yeah those look almost green.
 
Those are for sure tan canvas, it makes me think these handles were leftovers from the MountainManDu release because the photo for the BIG SATIN MMD Jerry posted looks just like your eRaticator handles.

I really prefer the TGULB tan canvas to the browner versions of old.
 
A little critique...

I like the feel of the handle and the heft, feels balanced.
The blade looks thin for such a long blade, but I'm sure the SR-77 will hold up (I've seen the linked videos of the "destruction" tests)
My only dislike is the closeness of the choir to the handle and as it transitions to the actual cutting edge. It's very abrupt and angular and I keep getting the feeling that if my hand slides forward on the grip I'm going to cut/puncture myself
 
Ganza sales won't show up on your order status sheet , I think because the build process is partially done and the blades are mostly or sometimes finished at time of the sale ?

I wouldn't worry about it, especially when you've been told you scored. Ganzaaa sales can be nerve wrecking sometimes, when you have no idea when they'll ship! o_O:confused: I guess that's part of the fun tho :D

It was UPS.

FYI, for the past year, I've only received packages from Busse via UPS. I'm not sure if they're currently using any other shipping services. Maybe someone else can verify/comment, but that's my current experience.
