The ESEE 6 is a tour de force unmatched in survival applications...

I like ESEE's a LOT but I reject the thesis here.
Just about any FB knife is better than no knife in a survival situation. And there are certainly nicer knives at higher prices. Nothing special about ESEE steel for example.
ESEE steel has a secret ingredient that none of the others have.

Jeff will always be a friend regardless of past history here. We had too many fun times back in the day getting into trouble in Atlanta and Miami for it ever to be otherwise.

I'm happy for his success. I have a handful of knives he has gifted me over the years, from the Ontario days and beyond.

Anyway, no need to revisit. It's all about the knives here.

So, how about filling us in on the work you've done with it, and tell us about the knives you've compared it to and why it's the best?
Sorry for the late reply... It is true that I do not own one, but one of my camping does, and we all ask to use his while camping, which makes for some interesting and amusing knife conversation. I have used the ESEE 6 to do a variety of tasks, including everything from cleaning fish, food preparation, utility tasks, batoning logs, clearing brush for the campsite and making a shelter (it excels at all bushcraft tasks), dig a hole for the fire pit, and chopping down small trees. I think the knife performs better than any knife (my knife if my old Condor Rodan, good not great) I've ever used at these various tasks which would obviously also be considered to be extremely useful in a survival situation. I have used becker knives (good but ESEE is better :)), cold steel, schrade schf 9, Buck and SOG Force, SOG Creed. The ESEE 6 could certainly be used in self-defense situations as well and seems stout enough to do even more. I don't have one because of how highly it is priced made even worse by inflation and my puny salary which never goes up with the high prices. I'm just a poor working guy but I hope will price come down and will be saving in meantime.

Esee may make a decent knife, but to say it’s unmatched is a far stretch from the truth.
What knife do you have to like to make war with the ESEE 6? What knife can match the ESEE 6 in survival is the question -not cutting a slice of bread to go with butter:).

Only rich boys talk like that:). Who wants to pay more more for a fancy knife that an ESEE 6 can accomplish the same objectives as good or better in survival?

War? There’s a ton of knives out there that will do what the 6 will do.and what do you know about that knife? You don’t even have one.
I like you. I will buy one. I need to save up the money first unless you want to buy one for me:).

Esee six lacking
No comparison is made
Blues unhappy boss
Conflating haiku and koans is risky business...risky I say.

As for this thread...well, I think it best we move along, secure in the knowledge that the "champeen" has not yet been crowned...
