The Ever Great Vantage Lineup

Too bad this one is not made in the USA plant, as this is a turnoff to many of you. Still available, the 836 Selkirk is a big knife, almost 4 inch blade with some similarities to the Vantage line. A possible downer is it's weight at 7.5 ounces. An XL Vantage would likely be pretty heavy and pocket carry would become prohibitive for some.

The best knives are made by Buck and made in the USA. That makes the Vantage the Best of the Best.

That would make for one long thin blade :D

I would love to have seen a concept of it. It does seem the Vantage line has dropped off as I am seeing most the models getting DC'd

I am thinking they are hedging their bets that the Slims and Spitfires are the more popular models for affordable EDC type knives. (They are not wrong)

Likely! The main reason I didn't Embrace the Vantage was it's small size. but I'm probably in the minority.

I have a number of Vantage knives.
I don't care for liner locks in a hunting knife, but I really quite like them otherwise.

The Vantage Pro's are nice knives.
I don't understand Buck discontinuing them.

There's still just a few in stock, so I couldn't resist ordering a few more for future needs.

When you look at what you're getting for the money, it was hard to resist. S30v blade with G10 handles.... I can get a 342 and a 347 for about the same money as the Onset..... I don't care for frame locks either.

I can easily get them to flip well with just some oil and time working the blade...

If you're thinking of getting one, you better hurry. I've been watching them and think they will be gone by morning.

Thanks.
