The Fal'er Knife.....

Ethan, you should put those handles your D2 model :)

Hey Tanker......

Normally I would second your motion but, I do have some "art" pieces......I really want this one to sit on the coffee table and produce some ooooos and aaaahs ......LOL........I still want to be able to beat it like a rented mule but make it so I am reluctant to do so.......LOL......Very reluctant........

Bladite.....

Hmmmmmmm......

I think this may be my first post in the subforum, (hi everyone), I'd suggest maybe etching the blade with a mission statement, for perhaps what the knives mean to you Ethan.

Change the fasteners to a gold or darker color. Strip the blade and refinish in od green.

Definitely vote for filework on the spine and some artwork etched into it. I've been experimenting with etching, and it works great. I just use spray paint, and then when it's dried, scratch off a design. I discovered on the last one that thinner lines work much better than big spaces (shoulda known in advance, duh). Strip off the paint with paint stripper like usual. Then mirror finish the rest of it. Could use a clear Cerakote finish to protect it some as well.

Glad you like them, Hawk590 asked me if I could do up a couple sets before christmas and I got super sick so I didn't spend any time working on new ones, he had a deadline so I stripped off two sets I had on my own knives and sent those out. This fiddleback set here was from a piece I was using as a push stick for my bandsaw, I think they came out alright except I meant for them to be two hole'ers and I accidently drilled 3 holes. Lemme know if you want a set of two hole handles, I think they look better on a presentation knife when they don't have the middle hole.

strip, polish, fancy filework, then copper (or silicon bronze) plate it using vapor deposition, polish again, and force a patina.

Strip and polish, filework would be cool, etch the flats, then blue (or black) the etching and filework.
Maybe drop some bright G10 or micarta liners between the steel and the wood.
All that done, I'd see if bronze, stainless, or black oxide hardware looks the best in there.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

I want to use a stock blade in the sabre ground version.....I am thinking the polish and hot blue is a start or a polish and then titanium nitride ......hmm....work in progess......Old Kraut thinking....Bad smell.....who is burning tires anyway!!!!?????.....

Right on the ball here. Must have missed this thread.

Offering to finish it in whatever color you want from Coyote Tan to JD Green to Magpul Dark Earth to WWII OD to.... Well, you get the picture. I'd be honored.

Hey K-9.......
