Came across an old book about knives from 1985 that my mother had found at a thrift store and given to me as a kid, I think it's mostly a collection of magazine articles or something similar to that. Never actually sat down and read very much of it. I thought it was interesting that knife design really hasn't changed much in a very long time. There are some newer designs out there but the popular stuff has been around longer than many countries. If it ain't broke I guess.

Just going off the book it looks like there might have been a slight shift in what a "survival"/wilderness knife is. Back then it was all about the Rambo looking knives but there seemed to be some well made options in the style vs. the $10 junk we think of.

I was using my ESEE 3 last night carving on my spoon a bit before bed. That is one slicey little blade. :thumbup:
 
As a matter of fact trade, I'm not from ky, I moved here from Colorado this June

We have 32 Acres here up a haller in northeastern ky
My lovely mother is homeschooling me (iv always been homeschooled But my mom wanted to try 7th grade And if I didn't like it and got a perfect grade at the end of the first term she would HS me)So I get to play with Knives 24/7 And I love kentucky
