Some years back I made a knife that, to me, was the perfect minimalist knife.
I started with a small blade and shaped it to be an extension of my finger.
I then cut away all of the wooden handle that I could do without.
To improve grip, I made large indentations for my fingers to rest – this assured a comfortable and positive grip.

A friend in New-Zeeland sent me some solid MOP chunks.
As they are too thick and irregular to cut and sell economically, I got them.
When I picked one up today I was taken by the beautiful pink, silver and white hues.
Then I saw that old knife I made, only the handle was shaped by nature.
The length, indentations in the right places – perfect!

The blade is vintage Joseph Rodgers Sheffield stainless, produced before the First World War, under agreement with Firth-Brearly who invented stainless.
So here is my solid Mother-Of-Pearl “Fang”.

I have a couple of chunks of this natural MOP and can thus make a few.
The price will be $55 shipped with Paypal fee included.
Each Knife will come with a leather neck sheath.
Please contact me should you be interested in one.
