Whew what a party it was. I just got back from the hammer-in at Kelly Cupples. He invited about 50 people for a damascus making fest! It lasted friday night and all day saturday and is still going on today. All the steel we could forge was free. Snacks and lunch provided and some of the best smiths from the Northwest were there. It was all hands on with 3 forges and two presses running non-stop.

Alpha Knife Supply drove down and set up with their entire ivory and wood inventory.

I cant say enough about the hospitality Kelly provided.

Ive always said Knife People are among the best people in the world.

Woah....

Please tell me someone was snapping lots of pictures!

Yes there were flashes going off the whole time. Maybe some of the attendees will post some.

My buddy Bob Jensen took his 10 year son Mikel along. Mikel jumped right in and forged a mosaic billet with a little help from Tom Ferry. Tom and Mikel also forged a bowie and hunter blade on the anvil.

I forged a big "W" pattern and ate about 3 pounds of barbequed fresh oysters right out of the shell. There was about 150 pounds there caught fresh a day earlier on the Washington coast.

Here is a short video clip of Tom Ferry and Mikel hammering out that blade. Hope it comes out okay. Think you just have to click on the pic.

Oh and if you have any more videos or any pictures could you post them?

Ah, I had so much school work, I couldn't have gone even if I had the oportunity

Don't forget the upcoming NWBA conference coming up in April.
