The first King Kobras arrived yesterday afternoon. I'll ship to those on the wait list ASAP.

As you can see from the bottom pix the knife is pretty well balanced and here are the specs.

length -- 30 + a fraction
width -- 1 & 5/8
thickness -- a shade under 3/8
weight -- about 2.75 pounds -- varies a little from blade to blade
Karda and chakma are about 7.5 inches

The overall rig rates a 10 out of 10 so what more can be said.

Oh WOW, that looks so good, I had a look at the smaller version in the brochure today, but this bigger one sure looks good.

JD

PS:- thanks for the brochure it arrived today

Beautiful blade Uncle! The quality of the wood handle and the scabbard is easy to see even over the net--the sarkis (and kamis for handle) should be commended. Looks to me to be THICK buffalo hide, and of course the new superfrog (which really makes a difference in the overall scabbard appearance IMHO).

This and the new 30" sirupati look great! Guess a little visit from the boss inspired everyone.

They are great. Being there in person and being able to communicate directly rather than going through 2 or 3 people via email or phone made a huge difference in the results.

Handing out the gifts that were sent, including the many watches that you so kindly donated, John, plus my own dispersement of cash bonuses I think helped also.

John, when Prakash was making your handles I told him these handles were for the man who put the watch on his wrist. No complaints when I asked him to redo them in a smaller version and as you well know he did a stellar job.

Uncle, I have one question. What kind of steel is used in the manufacture of the King Kobra, leaf springs or old files?

Very nice!!! :-) It looks from the pic. as though some steel has been removed from the center area of the blade a la the Gelbu Special, looks like a good way of keeping the weight managable.

Cheers for now,

QL.

You have me drooling, Bill. I know you said mine should arrive in March, but did I make this first batch? TIA.

I can't help myself:

straighten the spine til it's curve is just like Jim's katana;

stretch the blade about 5" to 25/26";

keep the handle exactly the same only stretch to 9 1/2 to 10" and add the tsuba from the katana.

Overall length 35", overall weight 2.75 lbs -
I'm starting to hyperventilate. Where's my medication!!!!

Rusty!! Thats EXACTLY what I thought of when I first heard of an H.I. katana! Maybe geniuses really do think alike? I just wish my genius was in the area of spelling....

Uncle Bill, how do I get on the wait list for two of those beautiful works of art and action? Best Scott

Just as a refresher for those who are considering ordering the King Kobra, what is the price on this khukuri, Uncle Bill, please?

Scott, email me with your address and I'll put you on the wait list for a King Kobra -- and anything else you might want.

Price is currently $175 and I think this is one of our best buys. Production cost is a little high right now but I'm hoping Kumar will get on the improvement curve as he makes more of these 30 inchers and we can hold the price where it is.

Many thanks for feedback and those who receive their King Kobras next week please give us feedback from the field.
