The first knife to give your kid

Grandfather had me cleaning fish when I was 5, had a black $5 cleaning knife with a spoon on one end. Started making weapons at the same age. My grandfather had this awesome petal powered grinding wheel, metal and duck tape.

Wish I had been given a cool mora scout knife.

Sounds like a cool childhood and grandfather, man. Thanks for sharing your story.

My grandpa gave me a Hammer brand midsize stockman when I was abt 13.
My dad had given my brother and I both fixed blades a year or so prior since we used to do a bit of weekend camping at the time.
Now to modern day.. I gave my daughter a small reg Sebby in S30v I wasn't using, my youngest is hard on stuff so nothing over 20$ for him, and the middle son who wasn't the most graceful at the time got a decent pair of scissors.

My daughters got given knives a couple of years ago when they were 12 and 15. The older one has a green Delica with a funky deep carry pocket clip, and her younger sister a bright blue Mora companion with a firesteel in the handle, as she more inclined to come hiking and camping with her mum and I.

I can't remember their exact age but I gave my boys a Victorinox Classic when they were pretty little. I later upgraded them (sizewise) to the Ambassador.
