The First Rule of Survival Is...

First rule of survival is to....live to tell about it. That or carry peeps and twinks for the just in case moment.
 
Another good rule is to know what you don't know.
That can save some troubles too.

totally agree about the 1st rule of survival, use your head it's the best tool you possess. ed fowler lives in that area of wyoming that i call marginal enviroment: not a lot of trees or water , hot in summer & can drop to minus 25 in the winter. having driven thru that area twice i relate it to very high desert which can be hit by extreme winds. i recall once when he fell on a down winding river or stream. he could'nt stand up & was slowly sliding to a wet frozen death since the ice was glass slick. he used his knife to stab & pull himself to a bank that allowed egress.--dennis
