The Fisher SPACE Pen.

Get a Zebra 701 pen - this is the nice fat steel pen. Take off the cap near the part you write with. Remove the plastic spacer. Remove the ink cartridge, save the spring. Install spring on Fisher space pen refill and put in pen. Screw cap back on. Done.

You now have an all steel pen that writes like a champ. The real win with the Fisher is that they don't dry out until completely dead. You never have to scribble to try and get the ink started.
