The flame on the burner psi

I'm fairly new to bladesmithing and making knives in general. I've recently with the help from a friend, built a propane tank size forge with kaowool, satanite and ITC-100. I also got the burner kit from HTT and fires up great but I for the most part don't know what psi I should be running to reach forging temp and also welding temps. I have to do some adjustments to the tube that holds the burner and reposition it correctly. It said I can take it up to 30psi which it does out side of the forge but I can only reach about 20psi before the flame sputters and stops acting like a jet. Basically what psi range is best Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You can ask this question on your other thread. We'll gladly help with answers there.

That said, a little more info is needed. How long do you let the forge heat up before giving it full gas pressure?

Not very long just until light glow. What thread should I be on? I'm still new to forums.
