LOL!
Nice one brav... :)

Jerry's gonna be pissed at you leakin that bad boy...:D

IKBS?

I Keep Busse Stuff?

I Keep Busse's Sharp?

I Kovet Bravado's Stash?

IKBS stands for the "Ikoma-Korth Bearing System." It was designed to be used in the making of balisong (butterfly) knives, but has found its way into folders as well.

http://www.ikbsknifetech.com/11/index.html

I would LOVE it if the Busse folder is IKBS-powered...as I'm sure many other knife guys would, but I'd be damned happy if it ends up with a pivot system like Hinderer's XM-18 as well.

Matter of fact, I think the XM is the pinnacle of the hard-use folder. For me to grab a Busse folder it would have to be as rugged, smooth, attractive, and well-designed as the XM. For me, it's Busse fixed blades and the XM-18 as a folder...along with my balis, of course.

Here's a pic of one Balibalistic's (Shawn Greacen) recent IKBS-powered Balis:

This knife is long overdue!! only specifications were to have a upswept wharnie with a deep swedge.

Blade: 3/16" ATS-34
Handles: TI
Spacers: TI
Latch: TI
Clip: TI
IKBS Powered with zero blade play!!

OAL is 9.6" with a blade length of 4.3".main bevel was ground on a 4" wheel and swedge was done on a 2"er.this one would make a great EDC as the profile is just very usefull (imho).the handles are anodized a deep/dark bronze but does'nt look much different in photo's then my others in bronze.when i can afford to make one for myself it will be like this :)

Hope you like it,buddy!

And here's another:

Heres my first finished knife for 2009!It was a custom order.

Blade: ATS-34 3/16" Thick
Handles: TI
Spacers: TI
Latch: TI
Clip: TI
IKBS Powered with zero blade play!!

OAL is 9.6" with blade at 4.4".the customer wanted a squareish bent clip.but i did'nt have any TI thin enough for a straight bent clip.so i machined 5/32" TI and did a combo machined/bent clip.and to be honest i love it!!slides in the pocket with little force yet it is'nt going anywhere!i plan to do more like it only a little slimmer. This blue seems to be a hot color, glad i wrote down the voltage for it :)

Anyway..,thanks for being patient Budo,i hope you like it!!

By the way...I've said it before and I'll say it again: I would LOVE a Busse Battle Bali!!!

I've only got a few folders, one more on the way, two more in the works eventually.
I'd love a Hinderer, and I'd really love a Busse folder

I am very disheartened.

For an EDC-type folder I just have 'common stuff' like Benchmade, Kershaw, and Spyderco. I've deliberately avoided the more rarefied air of Hinderers or Ken Onions and such ... hoping (without much hope) for a Busse folder. :(

I can't even bring myself to post a pic here. :(:(

If this keeps up, I may have to throw caution to the winds and maybe buy a serious EDC folder. :(:(:(

OP---A Warren Thomas folder "might" hold you over until that Busse folder arrives. :)

Here's my newest folder:

The only two folders in my EDC rotation are this one and my well-loved, rock-solid BM32bk.

I have never purchased an expensive folder. A Busse folder would get me to start saving my pennies though!

I feel for you OP! Obviously the fan base is there just look at how many people are willing to drop 3 to 500 for a folder, god knows I've done it numerous times. Maybe it's too costly to re-tool but I'm sure a collaboration would offset some of that. Shall we say Hinderer/Busse, Thomas/Busse, Fraley/Busse!

While I wait for the Busse folder, here's what I currently have.....

Rat Trap
6 CRKs - N.I.K.A. Tanto lg. & sm. original and lg. re-issue, sm. reg. BG-42, sm. LDC-109, Umnumzaan
Tighe Die Dagger Double "X"
BM710 CE 154CM
41 Spydies (down from 80+) all 3+ yrs. or older

EDC - Rat Trap or Umnum
Beater - BM710

I'd sell nearly all of them if Jerry would just release the INFI FOLDER!!! :)

∞

I think the Dozier Tab Lock Design with Jerry Busse Style and an INFI blade (of course) would be the ONE!

I love folders above all knives.
Here's a pic of my newest Chupacabra folder by Ray Rogers.
Supposed to get her tomorrow after a 23 month wait ! :)
She has a 4" blade, titanium frame, stainless bolsters, Mammoth Ivory scales, and tips the scale at 15 ozs.

True, it's no secret that us Busse fans have at least one expensive folder in our pocket.

.

I'll have to take a couple of newer pictures to show my current EDC folders, but they are, Marlowe Squail, Scott Cook Lochsa, Mayo TNT, SAR, ZT300 and a few others I don't carry often.

:D

Heck...I'd be fine with ANY of those. Good choices. ;)

When I quizzed the Glorious Beacon of Light about the Busse Folder, he looked into his crystal ball and opined ... it wouldn't happen. BUT he did leave this sort of "out" ... that perhaps a collaboration was possible. :D

I also looked up some Warren Thomas folder pics. WHEW!! That's some mighty fine stuff ... very artistic and yet, I strongly suspect, quite tough.
