It's from an 80's movie with Chevy Chase called "Under the Rainbow," about the hotel where all the midgets from "Wizard of Oz" stayed during filming... there were some subplots with a German spy and Japanese spy trying to meet up and kill someone Chase was protecting, and the code phrase was "The pearl is in the river" ;)
