The GEC new 23TL ....Is it just me or...?

Ohhhh man, how cool!

That's usually known as a fulcrum release.

Here are some Italians that sport that mechanism:

I'm so excited to see that GEC is going to make one!!!

Penn's Woodsknife.
Pennsylvania means "Penn's Woods".
I like the hefty look of it. Gotta have one. I hope they put that Utica shield on it!!

Ha Ha, I just got it!! A Penn Knife!!:D

Some pics of this knife in progress are up on GEC's site, wow! I might have to buy a couple of these:eek: They look great so far!

Lookit that tiny little etch :D I like the idea of this lock but I am looking forward to a video review from whichever of you snags one!

Are you referring to the scale material or the shape? If it's the shape I think this is basically a 73 with the lever lock. I believe they have made 73's with lockbacks, I could be wrong though. If it's the scales you are referring to, they are some beauties and it would be nice to see them on some of the 73's they will be releasing soon!

I'm pretty sure its a #23 frame, and there hasn't been one of those with a backlock yet.

I couldnt help it! Ordered one! Of course they have the one-armed man EZ opens available too...I had to go with the Bullock

Doh!! I meant 23, hence the name 23TL, duh! Thanks for the correction:thumbup: I did not realize that they haven't made a lockback 23 yet.

ETA

Since I'm all backwards the new release of the 73's would not be the same size as this but they are great knives! So here's to some great handle choices on the next round anyway!

I do wish the lock lever were solid instead of U shaped though. Oh well, marvelous looking knife!

I think the U shaped lever is common on this type of knife from what I've seen from others who make similar knives. The Otter that I thought I had coming has the same type of lever, as seen in this pic.

I ordered one up! Should be a beauty!

I have a similar lock on my Joker Navaja (not U shaped though). On those, the top lock catches a pin/notch in the back of the blade. Works very well. Looking forward to GEC's implementation of the design.
