The Gigi Show ( south Sardinia )

Some fine Sardinian Blondes there and others :) Particularly like the very top one:cool:

As for the interesting pivot tightening question, my knife would get impossibly loose in winter in town, the pins start protruding too and this is due to 11-28% humidity, really dry. I now keep it permanently in the country (well, it is a Rustic type) as the house is wooden and not much heat when I'm not there resulting in around 50% humidity which is ideal. The pivot is nice and tight and the pins flush, this Horn is still alive it seems :D

I have a vice (several actually...) and will try the brass liner tip if needed, wonder if thick plastic would work too or wood?

Hello Will - If you look at the photos in my link on the previous page you will see that the thin brass hinges, I used as the vice cheeks, actually have little divots left from squeezing the pin. I know wood will not work (tried that first) and I'm pretty certain that even a very hard plastic would give too much to be effective. Brass on brass seems to be the ticket - or some other soft metal, bronze, aluminum, maybe thicker copper.

Thanks Ray and now I'm annoyed at having repeated myself... :( but age doesn't help much with the drivelling tendency:eek:

Brass looks to be a super shock absorber and vice is certainly preferable to hammer -says the unsteady of hand...
