The Giveaway giveaway

Marcelo you sure got a good thing going on here. There is some real nice items that someone will win. Great idea. Doug

I'll toss in a Denim custom EDC in Wenge and a SAK electrician which is actually the first SAK I ever carried, and make a great complimentary pair. I really like this idea for the giveaway, great ingenuity.

Awesome giveaway. I have some questions about it though...

When you say basic member, do I qualify? I haven't paid for a membership (my wife lost her job right after I found this site) but I do contribute some and only in W&SS forum.

Once you give your knife away, will the winner start a new post where in everyone offers their stuff again (same or different item for each person) or will the winner just take over this thread and continue with the same items already offered?

David

Thanks for the questions, they may be on others' minds as well.
1. You must either be at least a basic member of BF or be a significant contributor to W&SS (post count of at least 100 with 50% or more of your posts made here. That's you.).

That answers question number one. As for the next question; I think it would be okay to leave it in this thread, maybe one of our supercool mods can make this a sticky. Folks might not want to participate in certain giveaways so I think that people can just link to their original entry or make a new one if they want in on a certain one. This would help if you're using a random number generator to select the winner. That way your number field can be from "x" to "y"

Finally the reason I added the cheapskate rule is to keep this thread going. I think more people would want to participate if the item is something that they can't just purchase on a whim any day of the month.

Once this giveaway passes to someone else they would then coordinate their portion with any adjustments as necessary. Any input is appreciated though.

Cool, thanks for the quick reply. I'm not sure that I have anything that someone couldn't just pick up on a whim but I'll try to enter in the next round of the giveaway.

David

This is cool idea! I'll sit out for a while, since I'm saving up to get a paid membership but after that I've got a few items I'll throw in. Good idea, Marcelo!

Psst, Your giving away an awesome knife that was given to you. That doesn't count as a generous give away on your part! Since I called you out on it, you need to give me that Bowie and put up your Skookum as the prize!

For me the fun is keeping my selection up and seeing if and what I would receive, knowing what is available and the blind chance of winning (kind of like poker when your last card is on your forehead for everybody to see). I posted with the intention to be in for every draw to keep things rolling, and have set aside the knives as such.

So basically what you're putting up is a corny sense of humor? :p

I'll put up my Justin Gingrich original drop point Ranger RD7 if you'll have me in this contest.

I stripped, polished and gun blued this one, and put a convex edge on it.

Wow! I thought I would have had to do numerous attempts to get a winner due to the number of non-entry posts but I got it on the second try. I went to random.org and entered #2 - 34; first one that came up was #9 - Walter Davis' encouragement post (and he ain't getting this one back :p). Second drawing, and winning number is....................

15!

That's Big Mike post. Congratulations my friend. I'll PM you so we can get in touch about getting it to you. Thanks to all who are participating and good luck on the next one. I may join in on subsequent rounds.
