After lurking around a few forums, I saw lots of praise for the Benchmade 710, especially the 710HS. So I decided I wanted to take a step up from my old cheapo S&W folder and indulge a little. This is my first Axis lock and my first Benchmade.
The only online store that I found that had one was 888KnivesRUs. They were actually one of three stores (the other two being NGK and gpknives) that actually responded to my email, and I know I emailed many more stores than that. 888knives was out of stock at the time, but he told me he would contact his supplier, and it turns out his supplier had one left. Good service. Now I'm usually wary about any product that is the last in stock, so I expressed my concern and DC Williams told me he would inspect it, and upon arrival assured me it was perfect, and mailed it out.
Received the package today, knife is perfect as far as my eye can see. Just a little dirty looking near the thumbstuds, but I'm guessing that's a protective coating that is applied at the factory? Knife is very sharp (to me at least, maybe not to some of you
), fit and finish is beautiful and the knife is absolutely solid. On a totally different level than my S&W, fits better, feels more solid, and most of all cuts much nicer. Still have to get used to closing this thing one handed...The Axis lock is a lot more solid than I expected 
Any advice for an Axis noob?

Benchmade - Great fit and finish, beautiful knife, lovely packaging, sharp, push cuts plain white paper, can't seem to shave any arm hairs though (maybe I'm not shaving it aggressively enough).
