Here's a story that evidences Brian Shelton's goodwill.
I ordered a bunch of Victorinox knives for Christmas presents. Each knife was destined for a special person.
Somehow, two Victorinox Waiters were omitted.
This was discovered on Dec.23.
I emailed Brian and he immediately responded with the message he would ship ASAP.
Christmas day came and the two visiting friends that were the recipients of the missing knives were invited to dinner.
My plan was to ship the knives to their homes after the holidays, and just ignore the fact that I had gifts for them. They live pretty far away and visit only at Christmas.
Anyway, the doorbell rang around noon on Christmas day. I opened the door and was suprised to see a mailman. He was delivering the two missing knives. The cost of postage equalled the value of one of the knives, and it was not charged to me.
Brian's goodwill enabled me to keep my plans. The knives were appreciated, and so is Discount Knives service.
Thanks again Brian.

I guess Brian gives a new meaning to the words "Above and Beyond".

That's something which is pretty hard to beat.

I don't get it, maybe he does not like alaskans, or Bill gets better service because he is well known. I had problems with DK before, but I had heard so much good about him that I ordered again, a plain edge Navigator. Got a serrated one instead, and it was too close to my Mom's Birthday to exchange it. He did offer to do so. In general it has just been a long run of bad luck.

IF you have had good experiences with Brian, then keep using him, I just have not had good luck. He does always try and fix the problem, but I lack the patience to have to deal with it each time. I have ordered from DK 4 times so far, and three of those times there were problems.

And I have never been able to get him on the phone.

Yekim,
Sorry about your bad luck.
I think you nailed it, however, with your statment on patience.
Brian runs a small shop and we all know it.
He does appear to keep his inventory well stocked, and when he is out of something, he announces it on his web page.
His small shop supports low overhead and GREAT prices.
In the Christmas delivery rush, he omitted a couple of items. When I brought it to his attention, his response was well above the ordinary.
I'll use him again, but my CASH stock is somewhat depleated by the holidays

My experience with Brian has always been the best. I had ordered some knives and sharpeners hoping to be received before Christmas. Brian e-mailed me saying that certain items from my order were temporarily out of stock. I replied asking it he could send the items of my order that were in stock because I needed them. On Christmas day, I had gone to a relatives for breakfast. When I got home I was surprised to see a package on my front porch. Upon opening the package I was equally shocked to find that not part but my full order was included. You could imagine how happy I was! Discount Knives will always be my #1 knife supplier. Thank you, Brian, for service that goes 'above and beyond'.
