The Grail... by crook or by hook....

Here is the lineage as I know it.

Somebody ? Art told me he traded for it ?

Rover (he is the one who stripped it and satinised it)

Me

Back to Rover

Me ( Somewhere in here I made the IWB sheath for it?)

Banditti (he is a good guy :))

Back to me ( I should have kept it, (But I have a satin Mefo, yep Mefo, old hogs know that one, and a original Mojo, pops knows the story on that), especially now that it is hook free)

Now to Guy

And here it stays. :D

Thanks, Dave, it's fun to learn the provenance of a given knife. Back at Blade 07 I was showing a Euro 4 that had been modded by Jerry. Every guy that had owned it before me, save one, was sitting at that table that night.

Well, props to Art for the satin job.

I'm too lazy to do such good work. :p

i know that busse has a habit of not doing reproductions on a particular blade and that is a good policy to preserve the value of knives...
however can you imagine this knife with mods, keeping the general design and doing a smooth bolt and scales...

i could envision a miniature version, as well

Smooth bolt, magnum handles with a palm swell... ohhh yes....

make it full convex while you're at it too. All the forward weight of the sabre grind version, but it'll bind up less while you chop. I'll take two!

I stripped that one. Chemical, sandpaper, and then auto body polish. All by hand.

I didn't know David ground off the blade catcher. Nice mod.

And thank you for the compliment, took a long time.

good idea, mm, that is the kind of mods i am talking about, we are getting there!! maybe we can push this idea a little and it will happen, i cannot imagine most of us not liking it...twill be interesting!!!

Nice score, Guy... Congrats on your Grail success!!! :D:thumbup:

Nice bunch of Grails Jaxx, truly Impressive.

Sorry, man... I didn't intend to post that here as I confused Guy's grail success thread with the other grail thread...oops!! :o My mistake, but thanxx much!

I'm curious if a original Ratweiler could be made into one of these? the lines look a lot alike except for the recurve blade and some changes to the handle. the Mr. Uncle Mofo

That sure is a neat one Guy.

I wasn't aware these were so rare....I think my sfno quest has blinded me in other busse knives, i think it looks better without the hook:thumbup::cool:

lol!

you must really be reading my mind!!!! at first I was think maybe I necrobumped this thread. I was looking at this all last night. I even mentioned over a the yard that these are my grails.

one day...

great minds think alike!

Congratulations on your score, I didn't know much about mojos/mofos, great crash course though on the different configurations. I really like the overall design and it looks like it fits the hand perfectly

That was a real nice lesson on the Busse evolution of that blade. Thanks! What makes you not a fan of the E handle? I picked up a Steel Heart E, I think I like it. Seems to fit my hand real well.

The handle is rather tall, or broad, for my taste. YMMV.
