The Great Chenotin Is Coming My Friends. . . . .. .

It is not as important to know who Chenotin was as it is to know what Chenotin means!!!!

Ask Little Turtle. . . . he'll tell you. . . . .

Little Turtle? Well...let's think about this. A little tutrtle's head retracts into a hard shell. Maybe the folder is at hand. It would be small and the blade would retract into a hard shell.
So what do I win?

Dag nabbit Jerry, you've gone and buried a folder in Little Turtle's grave, haven't you?

And Chenotin means, uh, chin o' tin . . . as in . . . um . . . a metal mouth!

Let's try ...

Another old-fashioned pot-herb that may be gathered freely in the spring is the early growth of that familiar weed of gardens and waste places throughout the land, the homely Pigweed (Chenopodium album, L.).
(source)

"Cheno" is an abbreviation for Chenopodium, which is commonly called Pigweed and listed as a remedy.

"Tin" is listed as an abbreviation for "Stannum".

(source)

Both together form one of the most powerful remedy of homeopathy, I assume.

A remedy. That's what us piglets need as we are suffering from INFI withdrawal ...

Mark23, you might bo onto something there. Native american healing arts could be the key. Who knows.

Little Turtle is something that, er "Donny Junior" does when the water's really cold...

I have nothing else to add to the discussion at this time...

Well Don... That's probably best:D

I'm pretty sure that falls under the "more info than I needed" heading:rolleyes:

I looked it up in Native American Ethnobotany by Dan Moerman
and found nothing:confused:

Mabe it's a new brand of hops that Carlings is using!?!?!

:D

I really shouldn't drink at night................during the afternoon........................in the morning.............all the time!

:D

This thread, like much of what goes on around here is, supplies a never ending wealth of useless information. I briefly scanned all of the open source data and get the impression that Jerry is naming a folder after an prohibitionist/exhibitionist South Beach native who pulls female penises (penii?) from a hard shell of some sort. I also have come tot he conclusionthat I am NOT going praire dog shooting in Idaho!

Chenotin is an unusual word as I can't seem to find it on the internet but have at least 5 different sources in print that can be had at the library. . . .

For those of you too young to remember. . . a "library" is a large building with a boat load of books inside. . . .oh, yeah, "books" are compilations of a bunch of papers with writing on them!

That concludes today's lesson, ;)

I am happy to say that at 29, I am not too young to remember the library. I have many fond memories of term papers and research projects that started in the stacks at the local library. Mmmm, musty books. I'll be back later! :D

Hmmm. Library. Right. I don't know what library you're looking in, Jerry, but I can tell you that after a day of searching, Sarah at the Wauseon Public Library was unable to find a thing.

The only listing for a "Chenotin" is as the name of one act of a French play:rolleyes:

I have one more source I am going to try tomorrow and then I'll have to throw in the towel.:grumpy: :grumpy:

Don't give up Les. I will be making a trip to the library tomorrow if time allows and we will get to the bottom of this. If it is in print I will find it, I hope. :D

PG, I had librarians all over Miami territory looking today and still came up dry. Like I said... one more source...

The really irritating thing about all this is I didn't even know Jerry could read... much less use a library.:p :p :D

Jerry didn't say what library he was using. You have to watch these old educators. They have tricks up their sleeves.
