Hello everyone,

The fourth and last book in my series on modern custom knives
HAS BEEN PRINTED!
This is "Modern Custom Knives - The Great Collections".

There is no doubt about the fact that this fourth volume, exhibiting
highlights of some of the major western modern custom knife
collections, is first and foremost a tribute to the collectors themselves.
It is mainly because of their relentless promoting of this art and the
people that create it, that custom knifemaking has reached the level
where it is today.

It will soon be shipped to Europe and the USA, and will be introduced
to the public at the the June 2007 BLADE Show in Atlanta.

This is the last volume in this series on modern custom knives.
I have alteady begun working on the first volume of a completely
new series dealing with the world of custom knifemaking...

See everyone there!

Just one more thing to look forward to at the Blade Show in June.
As of yesterday, the Waverly Hotel only had 14 rooms left.

The major collections from which highlights are exhibited in sections
of 10 pages or 18 pages belong to:

Tommy Hutton
William Jury
Phil Lobred
Dr. Laurence Marton
Dave Nittinger
Luigi Peppini
Dr. Pierluigi Peroni

Altogether, including original introduction sections, 288 pages.....

[sarcasam]Well I'm glad it's your last one because I'm getting tired of hauling these thick, heavy books back from Bladeshow.[/sarcasm] :D

[Seriously]I'm sad it's the last one because these are the books I have long dreamed of filled with beautiful pictures of the most beautiful knives, books that celebrate the craftsmanship and the quality and the beauty of today's custom knives. Thank you for doing them and I look forward to completing my set of autographed copies at Bladeshow.[/seriously]

Book #4, "Modern Custom Knives The Great Collections"
is the last volume in this series on modern custom knives.
I have aleady begun working on the first volume of a completely
new series dealing with the world of custom knifemaking...

It will be a series of books on individual knifemakers:
"Great Custom Knifemakers of the World" each
volume will be dedicated to one knifemaker.

See you at the BLADE SHOW.....

David, can you tell us which makers you plan to feature in the new series?
Thanks!

That would be a very interesting treat.
David, you should make it into a sweepstakes.
The foruminite who picks the most featured makers gets a free copy. :D

Regretfully, the Japanese collectors that I approached did not realize
the size and quality and visual impact of this printed exhibition....

As I mentioned somewhare else on the Forum, Edmund Davidson's art
of making Integral knives will be the subject for the first book in a new
series I shall now begin creating.

This series, "Great Custom Knifemakers of the World", will display the
knifemaking processes and the knives made by individual world-class
custom knife artists. Each 112-page hard cover art book quality volume
will be dedicated to one knife artist. The first volume,
"Edmund Davidson - The Art of the Integral Knife", is
planned to be introduced to the public at the June 2008 Blade
Show in Atlanta.

The knifemakers featured in future volumes in this series will be
unveiled as we go along...

Hello Todd,
I think you will like the full page illustration of your knives in the
ten page section on "Dress Tacticals" in the introduction...

David,
I am now back in Israel. Since you
no longer come to the machon l'mad'ei hachaim-
please PM your phone number to me, and we can have
a drink and compare knives.

Great news!

A collector friend of mine will be donating a
custom knife with a value of at least $4,000
as a givaway
for a drawing among buyers of my new books
at the June BLADE Show in Atlanta.

When I have the details on the knife (which will be a completely
new piece) I'll let you all know about it....

David, where can I find the other volumes of your books. I recently purchased the Custom Fixed-Blade Knives. The quality of the book was very first class. I did a search on b&n and amazon, but there was not much available. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks

Jason

I just purchased it direct from Saviolo Publishing and can't wait to recieve it. The photography, and the knives themselves of course, are all jaw droppingly beautiful in Dr. Darom's other books and I am sure that this will be much the same!

I also just checked out the Saviolo Publishing and noticed that this fine book is currently in stock and on sale. I think I will have to order myself a copy. I wish I were going to Atlanta so that I could get in on that free-knife drawing!
