nuthatchens... seem to have two different colors sets bouncing around the porch today. very typical nuthatch shape (to me), and antics...

one has the color and facial markings of a chipmunk - soft nut browns, creamy white chest, red brown below chest. very cute. can you id it?

the cardinals are elusive. they are like squeaky toys. also move too fast.

i put up a suet/seed block - the birds really like it now... id this bird:

i think i should probably get a really fast closeup lense, a DSLR, and a bird blind.

Here's one I took:



Had to take the birdfeeder down: at night kept seeing 120-mph rats on it. :mad:

Dunno. You flick on the light, and rats haul a@@ off the birdfeeder at high speed.

Couldn't even hit them with the Drozd (BB submachinegun) and it fires at 600 RPM.

Nice pics, Bladite. We have several bird feeders. The squirrels get into them on occasion, when I don't leave them an offering on the ground below. Sometimes they can be as entertaining as the birds.

(Mike, I like the idea of a BB submachine gun. :))

personally, i have a mega supersoaker for my squirrels, and that's a bit of fun. they leave fur behind they move so fast.
