I went to dinner with the family tonite to celebrate my 44th birthday. All the usual suspects were there. My wife and 9 year old daughter, Mom, my in-laws, my younger sister and her boyfriend etc etc. Anyway, long story short, some great Mexican food and margaritas were had by all and it was what I considered a good birthday.
Towards the end of dinner I received some very nice gifts and a little cash(always a good thing). Lastly my sister, whom I have affectionately called "butthead" for the last 20 years or so handed me a small box and a card. Written in the card were the usual well wishes, and a note saying "dad would've wanted you to have this."
Next month will be the 10th anniversary of his passing.
In the small box was the last knife I remember my father carrying. And now the only one of his I own.
Anyway, sorry about rambling on but I wanted to share with you fine folks the greatest birthday ever. Grant.
