hopefully my HOGFBMLE will get here by then.... if not i may have to sharpen my ak and go for a super bottle cut :D

i can get stuff reeeeeeeeeeeally sharp when i want to... bring it down to 15 degree's per sode (probably end up 21, but i can dream), super mirror polished...

also get to see what my time lapse feature can do on my remote, and what i can do for stopping motion with my f/1.4 50mm....

I'm intrigued what you plan to do with the intervalometer remote. As for stopping the motion with a super fast aperture, I'm guessing that you'll be happier with the results from trying high speed flash synchronization. If that doesn't quite get you what you want, dragging the shutter might look cool.
 
Huh... now that i think about it, I'm nots sure if the tc-80n3 can do what i want it to do... I may have to have someone on the roof taking the shot.

This remote only has a 99 frame limit for its fast shutter mode (I mistakenly said time lapse, wich i now realize would be 1 shot per second with this remote)... but then, that might be enough....

I'm only considering the f/1.4 lens because I love it's ability to consistently capture color saturation when its exposed a little dark. Plus the shallow depth of feild.

If I cant do it from the roof, then I'll probably end up using the 16-35mm for its f/32 so I can attempt to get everything in focus (shot from behind the person as they attempt the cut).....

How purist is the definition of photo?
How much, if any manipulation is allowed?
Are vector graphics allowed within the final image?
Do we present it here?
If not, where, and what format?
You did say "use". Does this mean absolutely no still life?

I'm not trying to be a smart (or dumb) a$$. But, being an artist yourself, you know how specific competition and critique can be. Thank you for the very provoking challenge. I hope to see more than I actually hope to win. But, knowing what you AND Jerry produce, I'll want to win as well.;) :thumbup:
 
good questions...

I was brainstorming with some friends (who are also copy/addman) and we came up with 10 killer ideas, ranging from add campaign type pics, to full one artistic deals... unfortunately, the idea is not the limiting factor, but production is... as i have little photo(chop) skill-

any photo gurus out there consider teaming up?

but this is an exciting project imo

hey, some of my most beloved photo's were taken with what ammounted to pin hole cameras on a cheap peice of metal.
 
Dang it, all i have are 'concept/content' ideas, fit for advertising, not so much artistic... will keep working on it... what is the deadline?

The below are Not entries, and simple unworked photo's, but the cut pattern the chainsaw left in the stump is beautiful imo... If i was able to really work with shadows and B&W, I think it could really be something... oh well.

ok folks....jerry came through...and you guys are gonna sh*t when you see what the prize is, only two of these will exist each very unique in its own way and one will be awarded here on this forum the other will be placed on ebay as a fund raiser for a wounded vet charity..... lets just say three very well known artist have teamed up to create the one of a kind peices of ........ oh i have said tooo much now....... the go button will be pushed very very soon.....

VTW--I'm really excited for this contest. While I inted to enter a photo, I can't wait to see all of the submissions from the herd of Hogs. Artistic hogs......I like that. Thanks for putting this together. :thumbup:
