The Guns of CRK Owners

9.3x74 is a great round !!!! I love my .375H&H !! Took it to Africa last year (it was this year till midnight LOL). Had the same tree hurting experience swinging through a hog when I was practising for bigger game (no CRK in the pic as I am looking for my first folder ;) )...

With my tree shot, it was also the killing shot on my whitetail. I was quite surprised that the bullet would pass throgh such a large tree, even if off to the side and still hit the intended target. Barnes bullets really do penetrate...!!!

I love the 375 H&H. I have one in a Winchester model 70 that is stainless and also one in a beautiful Ruger #1 that is blued. Both purchased new about 25 years ago along with my Merkel shortly after.

That projectile (Woodleigh 300gn Hydro) was so deep into the next tree I would have needed to saw it to recover it. Same projectile Through and throughed a Cape Buffalo popping the heart on the way, and they shot 3 shot clover leafs at 100yds, I have no complaints !!!

Yep, Winchester M70 :D

Very nice Andy... I mostly collected Pre-64's, but did have a Post 64 300 Win Mag that was a tack driver, and had very nice wood.
All of the Post 64's didn't have Controlled feeding like the early models, but I can't remember if they made an exception for the 375.

The 375 is a great round. You can tell my two favorites by my user name :D

The stainless model 70 i have has the pre-64 controlled round feed. Its a tack driver as well, great for a big caliber round. I have taken several whitetails with it. Great guns, its ashamed the winchester company cant stabilize its business.

They really are great guns, and the company has so much history. Sadly they have fallen to about the same level as Colt...

This one is push feed, it dates to the early 70s, I have had it since 83. Not a hiccup ever, it got most of its use in the Asiatic Buffalo camps here in the mid 80s. I gave it a bit of a spruce up before heading off to Mozambique last year. Refinished the wood (did away with the polyurethane finish and went to an oiled treatment). I also replaced the 2pc aluminium trigger guard and floor plate with a one piece steel model from Williams Arms. There is little I would change about the rifle now.

That's cool Andy. I'm not sure what possessed Winchester to start using a high gloss finish after 1964.
Yours looks great refinished
