If my memory of history serves me correctly, this is not the first time Gurkha troops have been in that region.
Has anyone ever read Bugles and a Tiger ?

Here's an image from the second time they were there, 130 years ago. Can't find any pics of Gurkhas in the First Afghan War, but they were there, 170 years ago.
