The Guruguru Bowie Makeover- Chapter 1 "The Beginning"

Bawanna, I can't believe you did that to my Bowie. I don't even recognize it anymore! If I could, I would drive over there and give you a piece of my mind...









because a direct brain transplant is probably the only way you could possibly understand the awe and gratitude I am feeling right now! Thank you! When I sent you my Bowie, I was expecting a little polish and some checkering. Instead you have blown past my expectations with your generosity. I have no idea how you managed to do what you did but I assume it involved going on a quest with George Washington riding a unicorn (or something equally ridiculous and awesome). Truly a master at work.


I really like what Jens said and, if you give your blessing, I think I'll name it "Stinger" now that it's been reborn.

I'm sure I can't say it enough so THANK YOU. I can't wait to hold it in my hand!


PS - what is the badger brush for? did you take it for a shave after? ;)

PPS - who is the babe in the background? :D
 
Ok, who blabbed about my quest with George? The unicorn is a bit far fetched though although it was a handsome mule, maybe handsomest I've ever laid eye's on. Hmmm, the Rat again?

I can't tell you how relieved I am to hear that you like it. It's scary sometimes to make a major change and my patience being near non existant, I sometimes don't want to wait for approval so I just cross the fingers and go for it.

I don't know what a badger brush is but if you mean the shaving brush I have that mounted and I run my checkering tools across it once in awhile to clean them out, saves having to grab the wifes toothbrush so often although I have several of those handy for cleaning out the pattern too.

The babe in the background is in fact Mrs. bawanna in an earlier life.

My blessing certainly isn't required, it's your bowie for ever. I do endorse the Stinger title, perhaps not only do HI knives find their own right and proper home, perhaps they pick their own name as well.

Consider me breathing a huge sigh of relief, I'm so so happy you like it.
 
That IBBB is definitely a feast for sore eyes. Any eyes for that matter. Joe, that is some craftsmanship to be proud of. I'm sure GG will treasure it for years to come. You done good, brother.

Coming from you Doc, well I'm speechless. Your projects never cease to impress me. I'd like to offer you the position of Senior Vice President in charge of quality control bawanna grip inc ltd.
Kind of a catchy title. Granted the salary ain't much to brag about but the title has to be worth sum thin right?
 
Bawanna you are supposed to checker the wood NOT the finger! LOL. That is beautiful. I am glad Guruguru loves it, but if he hadn't I am guessing that there are a couple people here who would have offered to swap it for a new replacement :D Unique and beautifully done.
