Good Morning Hogs,

It's the beginning of a new week . . . My Heart is Heavy with the case of the Monday Blues . . . So how about you show me your Heavy Hearts and I'll show you mine -- with a mirror polished edge ;)

I give you the Busse Logo Knife: HHFSH

I got a little "Light Hearted" with my knife -- the Heavy Hearts Fusion Steel Heart put me back in my place. :p

Heavy stock + mirror edges + pork porn =

Rob, I hope the actual results aren't as bad as the photo looks...

it may be the way your finger is angled, but it looks like that hog bite took off the digit to the first knuckle...

hope it is just the camera angle anyways...

Thanks Pete! No -- thank god I didn't lose the first knuckle -- I just took a small little chunk of meat off the top where the finger tips meet the nail. I got lucky though --- the knife made the most minimal contact with my finger and it resulted in this --- if it made full contact -- is be visiting the ER --- but HEY!! Let's not jinx me -- I have many more knives worthy of a mirror polish ;)

Glad you weren't badly cut but these are knives after all. They can bite if you are not careful enough, as you've been reminded.

HHFSH, 1 of 200 with standard slabs; and SHSH II, 1 of 45 with diagonal grooved slabs. Still have both. The HH was my 3rd Busse purchase, Mar'07 from "that auction site". The SH II my 39th, Feb'09, same site.

Pete

Pete

Definitely! You gotta respect all blades -- especially ones that are scary sharp! Those 2 blades are beautiful! Something special about the classics.

How did you get an edge like that?

It's 19.5 degrees on each side sharpened with 100/200 grit diamond, 400/600 grit diamond, 800/1000 grit diamond, 1200/1600 grit ceramic, 1.4/.6 micron ceramic, 5/3.5 micron balsa wood strop, and 1/.5 micron balsa wood strop. It's crazy sharp.

Man. I'd really like to own BOTH logo blades.... But can't find a HHFSH to save my pigs life... So. Not to hijack the thread, since its the ORIGINAL logo blade, and since ill feel left out if i dont contribute a lirtle bit... I'll post up my KEEPER.

It's a good thing she loves you Rob or she'd have taken your hand clean off!!!! ---- ;)

Don't want to spoil your fun...just remember to keep BOTH hands on the INFI while watching and/or filming Busse Porn ;) ....camera tripods are cheaper than ER visits in the long run

I caught an HHFSH, stripped it and then let it go a few years back.

Now I just have this convex ground .25 cousin that weighs almost the same. :)

My precious.

*Edit* Removed for I have failed and I have seen the drunkenness of my ways.

Fail. That is not a HHFSH.

Since I am something of a purist and pedantic about such things, the designation HHFSH properly applies to the 400 CG black w/black micarta blades sold by the Busse Comopany Store years ago. They were sabre ground at 0.27" thick, in contrast to the original FSH at 0.25". Those 400 knives became very desirable in the aftermarket, and many folks felt that they were the perfect size and weight. Eventually, Busse expanded production, and new variants started showing up at shows and 'Ganzas. Many were 0.27" sabre, and some were 0.27" flat ground, IIRC. Most folks now call those newer blades HHFSH, as well, and that is certainly understandable.

Back in 2009, when they were hard to come by, I did score one of the real things, with standard scales (there were 200 with std scales and 200 with magnum). It has since been stripped, but no pics of that.

At the Easton Trunk Show, there was a special run of solid bolt "HHFSH". Garth was kind enough to give this one a unique DCBB treatment.

Thanks for the share -- those knives are certainly gorgeous -- especially that solid bolt one.

However, as to the point about being a purist -- I understand the temptation to give the original run of 200/200 HHFSH's the sole rights to that name, however the name designation belongs to the specs. This is my opinion at least. The original run HHFSH's are special -- but more HHFSH's have been produced by the custom shop with varying configurations. My HHFSH demanded I settle this point ;)

Loving all the pics guys!! I think we can all agree -- the design, feel, and functionality of the HHFSH is great. Cheers!
