The HI Seax: Rainy Day Musings

Since we went off the gold standard, what is money anyway. Just more binary 1's and 0's telling me that I am poor. Actually, I have embraced my debt. I look at it like I'm married to that. That minus in front of my bank account balance is actually just my debt hyphenating its name;)

The HI Seaxe blade shape is surprisingly close to the originals I can find in the net. Down to the slight curve of the edge.
Many modern version turn the edge into a perfectly straight line which looks cool but has much less utility in my opinion.

Also the corner at the spine isn't just cutting a straight piece of bar diagonally. The corner comes out bit higher than where it's line toward the blade starts, like a hump.
I've no clue what function that serves but its there in almost all ancient ones. Who has an idea why the corner has to stick out a bit from the spine?

Not me? Theres a lot of Bowies that way too. They are not just clipped but forged that way. Cherokee Rose is a good example. Maybe its just to keep some weight forward for slashing? Just speculating because I dont know that answer either.
