Dude, this isn't a giveaway. It's a knife shop owner complaining about people asking him for answers without providing any when the winner to his 4 month long contest/advertising went south and a fraudulent user won it.

He isn't going to answer that. I've asked multiple times, as other have and I was even the second poster here. He had PLENTY of opportunity to answer it and so far nothing. Like I said, standard scammer/spammer/con artist behaviour, ignoring the real questions and just parroting a few other points making it seem like he cares and is responding. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt before, but all evidence now points to being played.

Ok, so now you are saying the promotion on FaceBook was the same as the one for BladeForum Members only. It just keeps flipping and flopping on this.

Fort Henry Custom Knives already made the site. As of now he is just copying it for his own use.
 
So George is back and still not answering any questions. Just calling people "wrong". Right now without answers, the only thing "wrong" is you and your business.

Please be assured I am open to reasonable explanations to the questions proposed. All information we have at this point basically points to taking advantage of our community for shameless promotion and possibly with even fraudulent give aways. This is not something I want in my neighborhood either online or where I live. Forget the knife, who really cares at this point? We care more about our community than for a single knife. George, the spot light is now on you to answer those legitimate questions. And if need be, I can post them all right here for you so you do not have to do a search yourself. Let me know.
 
George, you have not answered my question. I'm losing my patience with you. I want my account removed from your website. How can this be done? ANSWER THE QUESTIONS WE ARE ASKING.

You had no problem responding to everyone when directing traffic to your site, I expect the same now.

In the spirit of fairness and my own computer ignorance, how does one police an auction? If I were to conduct one in person with say 500 to 1,000 paper entries and I picked out the one winner am I supposed to then loom at every single one to male sure there were no duplicate entries? If it was an honor system of one entry per person what would stop that person from eliciting several family members and friends. I was not a participant in any of KnivesEmporium auctions. I do applaud their gesture. My anger would not be directed towards them but those who abuse the principles of honesty, decency and ethical behavior by trying to manipulate the system for their personal gain. Just my opinion.
 
I may not be a long term member, but since ive know about KnivesEmporium ive been pretty supportive of them and promoted them by word of mouth and facebook quite a bit. If they really gave this knife the the fraud winner I will no longer support or recommend their website.

Many other questions still on the table, not just the fraudulent registered Non-Member who won that is within the company's vicinity (strange coincidence). We have many yet unanswered questions, winners within driving distance of their company (Stephen Slampa as well from the April 6th 2013 give away), fraudulent entries against BF rules, copying Fort Henry's website, putting the BF Only entry link onto FaceBook, registered users included in the drawing who were not Members of Blade Forums, was there actually a knife to give away...

So right now there is a perception given the information at hand that KE was manipulating our community for their personal gain. A much larger issue than simply a knife give away.

And you can see here how the Hinder give away went from being 2 separate give aways to one give away where FaceBook participants were made aware of the BladeForums Only give away. No mention to BF members about the Facebook give away.

The OP's title to this thread "The Hinderer giveaway disaster" is aptly named. The "disaster" was in large part caused by the OP himself. One commonality I have noticed throughout this thread as well as the giveaway thread is that the vast majority of BF Members posts have been courteous and respectful, while the vast majority of the OP's responses have been terse and disrespectful--the way he has begun several responses with "wrong" really rubs my rhubarb the wrong way.

Just goes to show... when something seems too good to be true, it often is.
He never had any intention of giving a Hinderer away.
