The History Of The AK Bowie?

I missed a bunch of threads on the AK Bowie and was wondering what it's history was like. I hear Yvsa came up with it. What was it originally designed to do? Is the tip hardened like the edge/supposed to be? I think this would be a good blade to bring with you in the military. Out of time sorry for a sloppy thread!

Here's what I got by entering "Bowie" in the search and Bill Martino as the poster. There's three pages that should fill you in on the AK Bowie's history.
The Yvsa AK Bowie was the 2nd generation knife and not the original which was thought up by Cobalt.
