A simple hole. That hole was my deciding factor on what I really like on a folder. I sold all my folders, but two, and the Spyderco folder is my EDC. The Wave is great. AO's work. But for me, it's that simple hole--- The Spyderco HOLE. Thanks Sal.

TG,
I have the HD-7 and the Sebenza but the P-Millie is in my pocket. That folder just works ---for me.

It's a really great way to solve a problem without un-needed complication. It improves by taking away instead of adding; the essence of engineered simplicity.

The holes on several Spydercos are not big enough. I had the holes on my Civilians, Endura 4 SS, and Lava enlarged and it made a big difference. Thumb opening and spyder drop opening is much easier.

The Spyderhole was definitely the thing which made me try Spyderco, and one of the major reasons I've been carrying one or more of them ever since. Even the smallest ones are orders of magnitude easier to open than a nail nick or thumb bob equipped knife of similar design. They don't create a danger of accidental opening, as do flippers and the spring mechanisms of AO's and automatics. They do not increase wear and tear on clothing, or require a specific method of carry, as does a wave.

Thanks Deacon. Who ever thought you should patent a hole? I'm glad Sal did. All the best!
